Build your own bat house to hang on your property! We’ll help you assemble your own bat house and give you instructions on hanging and maintenance so you can provide important shelter for native bat species!

*This workshop will be in an indoor space with hammering and power tools.

Please register for the number of Bat Houses you wish to build. If you would like to build two, please register two people. If you have a group coming to help build, please contact us to let us know.

This program will meet outside of The Ridges Sanctuary Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center. Ridges staff will provide all hikers with a red flashlight for the duration of the hike.

Want to learn more about bats from the Americas? Come join Dr. Gerald Zuercher from the University of Dubuque as he offers an informative program about bats that will hopefully inspire you to think a little more fondly of them! Find out about the different sounds a bat can make and other facts that might just make you excited to see one swooping by in the evening.
