Sanctuary Guided Hikes: Orchid Observations | Friday, June 26 AFTERNOON
with Ridges Naturalist
Join a naturalist for an in-depth exploration of The Ridges Sanctuary. We’ll head out on the trails to learn about its history, the unique features of its diverse habitats, and what makes the Sanctuary the most biologically diverse area in Wisconsin!
This 90-minute, in-depth guided hike includes a tour of our Upper Range Light, which has been restored to the period of the last Range Light Keeper. Suitable for all ages.
Early Bird Hike | Saturday, June 27
with Dan Scheiman
Head out with The Ridges’ ornithologist to find migrating birds. In June, meet at The Ridges Sanctuary Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center, 8166 Highway 57, Baileys Harbor. Spring is an exciting time to be birding!
Suitable for ages 12 & up.

Orchid Observers | 7-11 Year Old | 6/29 - 7/3
with Summer Camp Staff
Ages: 7 - 11
Throughout the summer we invite campers ages 4-6 and 7-11 to join us for weeks filled with adventure, exploration, and discovery. Camps are held Monday through Friday, 9 am to noon. * Children will engage in thoughtfully planned, supervised outdoor learning activities. On Fridays, campers will enjoy “Friday Fun Day” at the beach! Space is limited per session to 15 campers for ages 4-6 and 16 campers for ages 7-11. Each child receives a Ridges Adventure Pack that they will use throughout the week and take home at the end.
Orchid Observers: Ages 7-11: Learn about the orchid species growing in The Ridges Sanctuary! Experience hands-on orchid research, study wild orchids, and understand their important ecological role.

Springing Sprouts | 4-6 Year Old | 6/29 - 7/3

Springing Sprouts: Ages 4-6: Each orchid at The Ridges is different, and campers will learn the flower shapes, colors, and sizes. Explore The Ridges through the eyes of an orchid trekker.

Summer Tiny Trekkers | Thursday, July 2
with Ridges Naturalist
Ages: 1 - 4
Take your Tiny Trekker to The Ridges to explore nature. Create a foundation of love and respect for the natural world through active play in nature between caregivers and children. Join a Ridges educator in gentle hiking, songs, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation. This program is suitable for caregivers and children walking through 3 years old.
Walk in registrations are welcome if a class is not full. Limit of 12 Trekkers per class. Each month explores a different theme.
